What a Friend We Have in Jesus!

We sang the wonderful old hymn What a Friend We Have in Jesus this past Sunday! It is always so good to be reminded of its beautiful, familiar words:

What a friend we have in Jesus!
All our sins and griefs to bear.
And what a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear.
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

If you’d like to hear this beautiful hymn, here’s a link to country music’s Alan Jackson’s version that we think you will enjoy https://youtu.be/znWu2HCJ92c.

In his sermon, our beloved Reverend Harry Johns III spoke to us about the Scriptures of Psalms 86:1-10 (click here https://bit.ly/3etQ3pv to read this, if you’d like) and Matthew 10:26-39 (click here https://bit.ly/3fQTHu0 to read this, if you’d like). The video of his sermon should be available very soon; when it is, we will post it here on Facebook, our website (http://www.adamsvillepresbyterianchurch.org/), and our YouTube channel (https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCkjsAeH9NRfG1urk1rBExxw).

We hope that you enjoy the video and or seeing the words of this hymn, and reading the Scripture linked to above. You truly do have a real friend in Jesus. He is there for you, and so are we at Adamsville Presbyterian Church!

We hope to see you at next week’s Online Service!
