Daily Reading: October 01, 2021

These wonderful words of encouragement are part of today’s Daily Reading from Presbyterian U.S.A. All of today’s Readings can be found at https://www.presbyterianmission.org/devotion/daily/.

The entire paragraph that starts with this verse is so encouraging:

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (NRSV):

“Do you not know that in a race the runners all compete, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win it. Athletes exercise self-control in all things; they do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable one. So I do not run aimlessly, nor do I box as though beating the air; but I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.”

May we all run our Christian race this day with aim, purpose, and to win!

Note: The young man in the photo is our wonderful member, Sim! He is currently enjoying his best year ever in running cross country for his school! We’re so proud of you, and thank you for being so inspirational, Sim!
